The Orchestra Project is a yearly summer music camp held on the campus of VCU. It is a joint venture between the Richmond Symphony and the Music Department of Virginia Commonwealth University. The Orchestra Project features two camps that run simultaneously: String Odyssey for developing string players with 2 years experience, and String Intensive for the advanced string player.

Our camp balances challenging musical training to string and piano musicians ages 8-18 with enriching group activities ranging from kayaking, campfires, environmental education, hiking and arts and crafts.

bluegrass music camp
June 28-July 26, 2020. Ages 12-18. 2,3 & 4-wk sessions. Bands, Orchestras, Chamber Ensembles, Jazz Ensembles, Choirs, All Levels, Private Lessons, Daily Classes, Workshops, Guest Artists, Weekly Concerts & Recitals, Daily Recreation.
Musicians 9-14 years old: play with others in ensembles, learn to play percussion instruments and sing. Campers will perform in concert at the end of the week.
