Our mission of self-esteem, community, appreciation for nature, and fostering positive Jewish identity is woven through all our programs.In addition to our "at camp programs," Camp Tawonga also facilitates teen adventure travel programs, international service learning, and weekend family camps. Week-long Discovery Camps ignite creative thinking and offer children the freedom of child-directed, open-ended learning through play. Children ages 3-8 and Junior Counselors 9-14 can build forts, perform plays about super heroes, explore the Bay, create and invent with art and more in our 15 camp themes. Children will develop a sense of belonging and new lifelong tools to support them with future discoveries.
Part adventure. Part self-discovery. All fun! Campers leave Camp Stevens full of stories about delicious food, new friends, caring staff and the new activities they tried, from archery and the climbing wall to campfires and sunset hikes.
Students will develop and improve their performative skills by studying with Bay Area experts in such areas as Acting, Voice, Movement, Text Analysis and more, all while rehearsing one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays for a performance on the Bruns stage!
