SOAR offers high adventure summer camps designed specifically for youth and young adults between the ages of 8 and 25 diagnosed with ADHD and LD. Each of our summer camp programs promotes friendships, increase self-confidence, and develop life skills.
Located in the Mountains of Western North Carolina for 78 years, we emphasize canoeing and kayaking, sailing, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wilderness trips. The program is non-competitive, to reduce pressure and encourage experimentation with new ideas and skills.
We emphasize personal growth and confidence building through a non-competitive, self-directed program that centers on outdoor skill development and wilderness trips.
Campers spend their days boating on the Pamlico River, or on shore learning new skills.

Located in the mountains of SW Virginia along the New River, Cheerio Adventures is an adventure camp for boys and girls ages 9-16. Offering 1 week and 2 week sessions. Choose a session that does a little bit of everything. Beginners and experienced campers are welcome.
Eagle’s Nest is a co-ed camp for young people in Kindergarten through 11th grade. We offer a wide variety of traditional summer camp activities (such as visual and performing arts, swimming, horseback riding, and athletics) as well as wilderness adventures (backpacking, whitewater canoeing, and rock climbing).
Children with and without disabilities will enjoy a week of riding, learning about horses, arts and crafts, and playing indoors and out!
